Functional Developer

The objective of a Functional Developer for the Caseware Division is to achieve ongoing financial success for the business through efficient product delivery and utilization. The incumbent is responsible for partnering with key internal stakeholders for the planning, development, and implementation to ultimately enhance customer value.

If you want to:

  • Breaking down feature requirements into more detail;
  • Contribute to the development of User Stories;
  • Develop new features that adhere to the
  • Development Standards;
  • Produce template customisations and enhancements of exceptional quality that require minimal rework;
  • Perform the review of the work of own and others for accuracy and completeness;
  • Question and critically assess the effectiveness of current template development methods and principles and provide suggestions for improvements; and
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies as part of the team.
  • Drive successful execution of sprint objectives by coordinating with all stakeholders across the release value chain (Product Development, Product Owner(s), Product Manager(s), Content Providers and Third Parties);
  • Participate in key activities that complement success in every Program Increment;
  • Drive efficiency in delivery by resolving challenges that may impact successful delivery; and
  • Partnering with Scrum Master(s), Product Owner(s) and fellow team members to identify potential risks.
  • Maintain effective communication with relevant team (Product, Support, Training and Consulting etc) to identify and act on real-time customer insight to inform compelling customer experience interventions;
  • Support go-to-market execution by collaborating closely with the Product Owner(s) and fellow development teams in optimising user experiences, solving customer issues and partnering closely with customer success and client facing functions; and
  • Establish a trusted relationship to help drive the continued value of products and services.
  • Understand client feedback to deliver additional product line features and capabilities that address client issues; and
  • Optimise existing metrics and defining new areas of measurement to improve velocity, cycle time, product experiences and performance.

And you have:

  • Degree/NQF Level 6 National Diploma with Informatics, Financial Information Systems and/or Accounting as final year subjects (if no degree, the incumbent must have good technical system knowledge and experience).
  • Have used Caseware for a minimum of 12 months in the last 2 years.
  • Experience using/supporting financial software systems.
  • Extensive experience working in CaseView Design Mode.
  • Experience working with JavaScript and HTMLCaseware Working Papers software knowledge. being tested.
  • Accounting.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills (with basic control and logical operations).
  • Experience in using Caseware Working Papers and being familiar with at least one of the following Templates: IFRS, IFRS for SME, SAIPA, GRAP, mSCOA, MCS.
  • Passionate about Financial Reporting software.
    Knowledge of and/or exposure to working in an Agile manner would be advantageous.
